The PAL Card

IPAF training program is developed by professionals in the lift industry. Conducting the IPAF training is a reliable way to achieve the knowledge and understanding needed to work safely and efficiently, and to prepare for work with a personal lift.

The card is valid for 5 years. The card can be renewed by compliting the exams again if you have used the lift regularly and have recorded it in your logbook. Otherwise, the card will need to be renewed by conducting the whole IPAF training.

Training program is certified by TÜV as conforming to the international standard ISO 18878 Mobile elevating work platforms Operator (driver) training.

The IPAF training categories

The PAL card shows the types of mobile elevating work platforms the cardholder has qualified for.

Vertical personnel platforms (static) (1a) – Self-propelled booms (1b)

Scissor lifts, vertical personnel platforms (mobile) (3a) – Self-propelled booms (3b)

 

Content of training

The training includes both theory and practice and the size of the group is kept small so that we can ensure that each participant receives all the knowledge they need.

We conduct trainings in Finnish, Estonian, Russian and English. There are more than 20 language options for the written exam, including: Finnish, English, Russian, Swedish, French, German and Polish.

After you pass the course, you:

• Control the essential health and safety legislation relating to the use of the lift
• Are aware of how to prevent and manage accidents
• Know when and what kind of personal protective equipment you need
• Understand the importance of the lift operator’s manual
• Are able to drive and operate the lift securely

Your knowledge will be tested by a written test and a driving test. Approved performance will give you the qualifications for the chosen category.

Upon completion of the training, you will receive an International PAL Card (Powered Access License), Security Guide, Logbook and Certificate.
